VICTORIOUS LIVING

Part 2

You are the light of the world.  Do you let your light shine before men?

Jesus says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”

Once you ask Jesus to be Lord and Savior of your life, He fills you with the Holy Spirit. What are some of the attributes of the Holy Spirit?

  • In the book of Job, Job says, “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the almighty hath given me life.” Job 33:4.

  • In Psalms, David said, “Whither shall I go from the spirit? Or whither shall I flee from thy presence?” Psalm 139:7

  • 1 Corinthians says “But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. Now we receive not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.”

So how does the Holy Spirit relate to believers?

  1. Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

  2. But we are bound to give thanks always to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth.

What is the Believer’s relationship to the Holy Spirit?

  1. This I say then, “Walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

  2. And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of Redemption.

  3. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.

So we see that without the Holy Spirit living in our lives, we cannot live victoriously.

Our next lesson will conclude Living a Victorious Life.

Pray this prayer in sincerity:

Father, I have grieved the Holy Spirit and I’m so sorry. Help me to live in light.  In Jesus’ name .
